Go Canada Go!!

Today is our Olympic day. Everyone is split up into countries. This morning we met in the gym for our opening ceremonies and we passed the torch around! Bailey got to be the flag bearer for Italy and Audrey got to do it for Finland (she's also wearing the Finland colours!). This afternoon we are going to do a whole bunch of Olympics activities like bobsledding and curling.

Yesterday something very special happened. We got to watch Jennifer Jones (from winnipeg) win a gold AND we got to watch the end of the third period ( and the overtime) for the women's hockey game!! When we won gold, people jumped up on excitements and screaming! It was very exciting!!

Short blog today because it's time for lunch!!

Fantastic February 14th

This week it was Valentines day and we made bags and everyone hand out amazing cards. We wrote poems on hearts and we did our rough copies first and then we did our good copy on the hearts!! For example, Roses are red, violets are pink and when you swim, you always sink!!! That was Abigail's!

We left China on Monday and flew to Mexico!!! It was very hot in Mexico - is it hot in winnipeg too?! When we checked the weather in Mexico it was a 48 degree difference!!! Weird fact: in Mexico, they don't have snow BUT they have snow on top of the mountains! We are starting to learn Spanish and one of our students speaks Spanish (Javiera)!

In math we are working on telling time and adding and subtracting with MONEY!!!

Mathew came back this week from Texas! He was gone for 10 days!! They had a "snowstorm" but we looked at the pictures and it didn't really look like our snow storms!!!

Have a Happy Valentines Day and a great long weekend!!

The Mon-Tastic Week

This week we started new math centres! All of our centers were about money! There was the smart board center, the iPad center, the Ms. Moffatt center, money memory and a money worksheet! It was fun because it was 'mon-derful' (instead of wonderful)

This week we went to the WSO - stands for the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Some people dressed up fancy. There we saw Manny the Tuba and he was playing a musical treasure hunt and we helped him figure out the answers. There was A, B, C and D for every question and we yelled out the answer BUT some questions he didn't listen to us and he got them wrong!! It was great. The best song was the Pirates of the Caribean.

Today we finished up our time in China. Monday we are getting on a plane and flying to MEXICO! We are excited about the heat, to learn about the people, learn about the animals and compare them to our animals, try to different foods and learn how to speak Spanish.

Today we also saw Ted Longbottom. He sang songs about the Aboriginal People and the Metis people. Another man was dressed as a bison and a voyageur. It was excellent.

Talk to you next week when we are in MEXICO!!!
